A small town on the bank of the Uruguay River in Misiones Province, north-eastern Argentina, Panambí sits on the border with Brazil, connected to the Brazilian town of Porto Vera Cruz by a ferry crossing. The nearby Cerro Mbororé was the site of the 1641 Battle of Mbororé, described by historian Félix Luna as one of the most significant military engagements in Argentine history. Local draws include the Paca waterfall and the Puerto Sánchez campsite.
