Parabita
Lecce · Italy
A pocket-sized town in the Salento interior of Apulia, Parabita has an unusual concentration of historic churches for its size and sits among vineyards with scenic views across the surrounding countryside. The area has been inhabited since before the Neolithic, and a nearby cave — the Grotta delle Veneri — yielded two carved bone figurines of Palaeolithic date. The Adriatic and Ionian coasts are both within easy reach.
