Pelhřimov, in the Vysočina Region of Czechia, is known as the city of records and curiosities, hosting an annual International Festival of Records and Curiosities and home to a Museum of Records and Curiosities. Its compact historic centre — protected as an urban monument reservation — holds well-preserved Baroque and Renaissance buildings around a main square with the Church of Saint Bartholomew, with cafés and restaurants within easy walking distance. The town sits in the Křemešník Highlands along the Bělá Stream and serves as a starting point for cycling and hiking in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
