Pita
Guinea
Base for excursions into the Fouta-Djalon highlands of Guinea, Pita is a stop between Dalaba and Labé with nearby waterfalls at Kambadaga and Kinkon, the Doucky cliffs, and the village of Aïnguel within reach. The town is also known for traditional cotton weaving and, along with its sub-prefecture of Timbi Madina, for growing the potato variety called "belle de Guinée." The Kinkon hydroelectric dam, built in 1966, still supplies power to surrounding towns.
