A waterfront town on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, Port Angeles sits on the Strait of Juan de Fuca with ferry service to Victoria, British Columbia, and mountain terrain close at hand. The walkable centre has a solid café and restaurant scene, and the surrounding area offers scenic viewpoints and strong photographic appeal. Named Puerto de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles by Spanish explorer Francisco de Eliza in 1791, it is also the birthplace of football Hall of Famer John Elway.
