Przemysl

Sitting on the San River in southeastern Poland, Przemyśl is a walkable town with a café-filled Old Town listed as a Historic Monument of Poland, a dense concentration of historic churches, and scenic views from the hills that ring the centre. A former royal city and long-standing trade hub at the gateway between mountains and lowlands, it also holds the Przemyśl Fortress complex — both the Old Town and fortress were added to Poland's list of historic monuments in 2018 — and sits close to the Ukrainian border.
