Puerto Angel

Modest fishing village on a sheltered bay in Oaxaca's Pacific coast, Puerto Ángel has a café and restaurant scene that is well stocked for its size, with the water essentially at the doorstep and rocky hills rising toward the Sierra Madre del Sur behind. Founded in the mid-19th century as a port for coffee and lumber, it sits within a stretch of coast — the "Riviera Oaxaqueña" — that includes nearby beaches at Zipolite, San Agustinillo, and Mazunte.
