Puerto Cabello
Venezuela
Puerto Cabello, on Venezuela's north coast in Carabobo State, is home to the country's largest and busiest port — a city whose name comes from a Spanish saying that its waters were so calm a ship could be moored with a single hair. Founded in 1811 as San Juan Bautista de Puerto Cabello, it also hosts the Agustín Armario naval base, inaugurated in 1946 and headquarters of the Venezuelan Navy's command since 1960.
