Quechee Gorge, carved by the Ottauquechee River, is the centerpiece of this compact Vermont village in Windsor County. The gorge draws visitors to its scenic overlooks, while the riverbank below is home to the Simon Pearce glass-blowing facility and restaurant, housed in a historic mill beside a covered bridge rebuilt after Hurricane Irene damaged it in 2011. The Quechee Lakes planned community, developed from the late 1960s, added a compact ski area in the 1970s.
