Ruovesi
Finland
Lake-dotted municipality in Finland's Pirkanmaa region, Ruovesi is home to Helvetinjärvi National Park and sits amid extensive forest and some 200 lakes. Lake Ruovesi, the largest body of water in the area, drains into the Kokemäki River basin. The municipality was separated from Suur-Pirkkala in 1576 and built much of its modern economy on sawmilling and mechanical forestry industries, though only a handful of sawmills remain today.
