The archaeological park surrounding San Agustín, a small town in Colombia's southern Huila department, holds one of the largest collections of pre-Columbian funerary monuments and statuary in the Americas and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in its present form in 1790, the town sits close to mountain terrain and offers a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size.
