San Ignacio
San Ignacio · Argentina
San Ignacio Miní, a Jesuit reduction whose ruins are among the best-preserved of their kind in the region, sits within this compact town in Misiones Province, north-eastern Argentina. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the mission — where Jesuit priests organised Guaraní communities — is the town's main draw, and tourism around it supports a small central core of cafés and restaurants. The Paraná river runs close to the town's edge.
