This border city in Mexico's Sonoran Desert, San Luis Río Colorado sits at the northwestern corner of Sonora where it meets both Baja California and the United States. Recognised by Mexico's national meteorological service as the country's most arid city, it occupies the edge of the Gran Desierto de Altar, with desert landscapes and mountain views that give it a strong visual character.
