San Miguel de Velasco
Bolivia
Part of the Jesuit Missions of the Chiquitos — declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990 — San Miguel de Velasco is a tiny town in Bolivia's Santa Cruz Department built around a former Jesuit Reduction. Its wood and adobe church features an elaborate interior and stands as the town's centrepiece. The wider region holds additional Chiquitos mission sites within reach, and the town has its own airstrip for access.
