San Miguel del Monte

This modest town on the left bank of the Salado del Sur river in Buenos Aires Province, San Miguel del Monte — commonly called Monte — sits roughly a short drive south of Buenos Aires. One of the older municipalities in the province, it was formally organized in 1864 on the site of the earlier Guardia del Monte settlement, and its compact centre has cafés and restaurants along the waterfront.
