A coastal tiny town on Jalisco's Pacific shore, San Patricio — commonly known as Melaque — sits on Bahía de Navidad between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo, forming the largest community along that stretch of coast with the neighbouring villages of Melaque and Villa Obregón. Playa Melaque is the main beach, suited to swimming, bodyboarding, and skimboarding, with calmer water at the western end. The town centre holds a colourful plaza and retail shops, while palapa restaurants and hotels line the beachfront.
