Founded in 1860 by Timoteo Chacón, Santa Ana del Táchira is an Andean town in Venezuela's Táchira state that retains a colonial streetscape of long avenues, corridor houses, and terracotta-tiled roofs. It sits in the foothills of the Tamá Massif, south of San Cristóbal, on the banks of the Quinimarí River, with mountain terrain rising on all sides.
