Known as the "capital of octopus," Santa Luzia is a tiny waterfront village in the Algarve municipality of Tavira, where the local speciality fills menus across an unusually dense cluster of cafés and restaurants. Boats leave from here across the Ria Formosa to Praia do Barril and Praia do Rio Estreito, and the surrounding area takes in nearby vineyards.
