Founded in 1892 on the shore of Don Tomás Lagoon in the Argentine Pampas, Santa Rosa is the provincial capital of La Pampa and one of the smallest provincial capitals in the country. The city's Provincial Art Museum holds paintings by major Argentine artists including Raúl Soldi, Antonio Berni, and Quinquela Martín, alongside a Provincial Natural History Museum and the 1908 Teatro Español theatre. Regular flights connect it to Buenos Aires.
