Shag Harbour
Barrington · Canada
A small Nova Scotia fishing hamlet on the South Shore known for the 1967 Shag Harbour UFO incident, now commemorated at the local UFO Museum. Lobster fishing remains the main industry, running from November through May. The Chapel Hill Museum, a heritage-designated building dating to around 1856, offers a second point of interest, and the surrounding area is connected to the award-winning non-fiction writing of local author Evelyn Richardson, whose work was set on nearby Bon Portage Island.
