Shanwei

A coastal resort city in eastern Guangdong, Shanwei faces the South China Sea along a long shoreline dotted with hundreds of islands, with the Lianhua mountain range rising to the northwest. Sitting between Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta to the west and the broader eastern Guangdong coast, it is also known as Hailufeng — a name combining two of its constituent areas — and most locals speak a Southern Min dialect variety.
