Shaowu

County-level city in the Wuyi Mountains of northwestern Fujian province, Shaowu sits along the river with mountain views on the horizon and borders Jiangxi province to the west. With a history of over 1,700 years, it was once one of the eight prefectures of Fujian. The local dialect blends Northern Min and Gan Chinese, reflecting its position at the edge of two linguistic regions. Several UNESCO World Heritage sites lie within the wider region.
