Sihanoukville
Cambodia
Cambodia's main coastal tourism hub, Sihanoukville sits on a peninsula in the southwest on the Gulf of Thailand, with a string of beaches along its coastline and several islands nearby. The city is also home to Cambodia's only deep-water port, which has operated since 1955. Heavy Chinese investment since the 2010s has reshaped much of the city with casino and resort construction, and the area has gained notoriety for organized crime activity. It remains the primary departure point for the surrounding islands.
