Smolenice
Slovakia
Smolenice Castle is the headline attraction of this pocket-sized town on the foothills of the Little Carpathians in western Slovakia, a short drive from Bratislava. The Driny cave and Záruby, the highest peak in the Little Carpathians, add natural interest nearby. The town also marks the southern end of the Malokarpatská wine route, one of Slovakia's wine regions, which runs north from Bratislava's Rača district.
