Spello
Perugia · Italy
This small walled hill town on the southern flank of Monte Subasio in Umbria, Spello has an unusually dense concentration of historic churches and a café and restaurant scene that punches above its size. The old town sits on a ridge with views across the Umbrian plain toward Perugia, and the surrounding area is wine-growing country. Recognised by the Touring Club Italiano with its Bandiera Arancione quality mark, Spello is also listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia. Assisi lies a short distance to the north.
