This tiny town in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, St. Stephen sits on the east bank of the St. Croix River, which forms the natural border between Canada and the United States. Three cross-border bridges connect it to Calais, Maine. The town expanded significantly in January 2023, annexing several surrounding local service districts, and retains town status as the Municipal District of St. Stephen.
