Sühbaatar

Sühbaatar, the capital of Mongolia's Selenge Province, sits on the bank of the Orkhon River within sight of mountains and serves as a stop on the Mongolian railway. Founded in 1940 and named after the revolutionary general Damdiny Sükhbaatar, the town offers river access within walking distance of the centre alongside its role as a regional hub for independent travellers passing through on the rail route.
