Takedamachi

Taketa City in Ōita Prefecture, southwestern Japan, is built around the ruins of Oka Castle, where the Meiji-era composer Takeki Rentarō is said to have conceived his celebrated song "Kōjō no Tsuki" (The Moon Over the Ruined Castle). The former castle town of the Oka domain sits among mountain scenery, with scenic viewpoints in the surrounding area.
