Talca
Talca · Chile
Founded in 1742 on the confluence of the Río Claro and two smaller waterways, Talca is a regional capital in central Chile's Maule wine country, roughly midway between Santiago and the south. The walkable centre has a concentration of historic churches, a real café and restaurant scene, and the Museo O'Higginiano y de Bellas Artes. The surrounding region is one of Chile's main agricultural and wine-producing zones, with the Andes close to the east.
