Tobarra, a small town in Spain's Albacete province, is best known for its Holy Week drum processions — the tamboradas — declared of National Tourist Interest, and for a Good Friday ceremony on Mount Calvary in which an articulated Christ statue blesses the four cardinal points before a congregation of tens of thousands. The town also holds a sculpture by Francisco Salzillo and sits in apricot- and vine-growing country, with several historic churches for its size.
