This coastal city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, Tongyeong is built around the legacy of Admiral Yi Sun-sin — the city's very name means "command post," referring to his principal base on nearby Hansan Island, and it was formerly known as Chungmu, after his posthumous title.
