Toufen Township

Toufen is a walkable city in northern Miaoli County, Taiwan, with a café and restaurant scene in the centre and a concentration of historic churches. Around ninety percent of residents are of Hakka ethnicity, making it one of the most distinctly Hakka cities in the county, and it is also notable for its relatively high proportion of speakers of the Hailu dialect of Hakka. The city centre merges with neighbouring Zhunan, and the area sits close to both mountains and water.
