Trebenista
North Macedonia
An Iron Age necropolis on the northern shore of Lake Ohrid, Trebeništa is known for 56 richly furnished graves — including gold funerary masks — spanning from the late 7th to the late 4th century BC. Attributed to the Illyrian Dassaretii people, the site shows cultural connections reaching as far as the Thermaic Gulf. The wider region holds several UNESCO World Heritage sites.
