Unterseen
Switzerland
Sitting on the eastern shore of Lake Thun in the Swiss canton of Bern, Unterseen looks directly toward the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau — three of the Alps' most recognizable peaks. The little historic town shares the flat Bödeli plain with neighbouring Interlaken, separated only by the Aare river, and serves as a base for the wider Bernese Highlands. The surrounding region holds several UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the town itself has a good concentration of cafés and restaurants for its size.
