Usk
TLL54 · United Kingdom
A compact Welsh market town on the River Usk in Monmouthshire, with a ruined castle above the town and an arched stone bridge at its western entrance. Founded by the Romans in 55 AD as Burrium, Usk later developed a Japanware industry and built a prison in 1841–42. It is perhaps best known today for winning the Wales in Bloom competition 35 times in a row between 1982 and 2016, and has a handful of cafés and restaurants for a place its size.
