Vainode

A small Latvian village in the Courland region that grew up around a railway station on the Liepāja–Mažeikiai line after 1871, Vainode holds a local museum in the former station building, along with Lutheran, Baptist, and Catholic churches. To the north lie the Lielbāte manor house and the Bāta hillfort. The village also has a cultural centre, music school, and stadium.
