A Baltic seaside resort town in Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast, Zelenogradsk sits on the Sambian coastline near the Curonian Spit and has held federal resort status since 1999, with a specialism in balneotherapy. Known historically as Cranz, it was once a popular German seaside destination on the eastern Baltic coast. The town has a walkable centre with a solid food-and-drink scene, and the Curonian Spit — a UNESCO World Heritage site — lies close by.
