Guizhou Province · China

Zunyi, a large city in northern Guizhou province, is best known as the site of the 1935 Zunyi Conference, where Mao Zedong first rose to leadership of the Chinese Communist Party during the Long March, making it one of the most significant stops on China's revolutionary history trail. Nearby Maotai town produces Moutai liquor, and the wider region holds the Shuanghedong Cave Network and the Chishui River crossings associated with the Red Army's Long March.
