Birthplace of the Ukrainian poet Lesya Ukrainka, Zvyahel is a town in northern Ukraine's Zhytomyr Oblast, set on the Sluch River and first recorded in 1256. The centre is walkable, with cafés and restaurants within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers scenic viewpoints. The town developed as an urban centre in the 16th century under the Ostrozky princes and sits on the main Lviv–Kyiv route, making it a practical stop for travellers crossing the region.
