Ba Chuc, a pocket-sized commune in Vietnam's An Giang Province, is defined by the 1978 Khmer Rouge massacre of an estimated 3,157 civilians — an event commemorated at the Ba Chuc Ossuary, a national heritage site alongside the Phi Lai and Tam Buu pagodas. The Vinh Te Canal, linking Chau Doc to Ha Tien, runs through the area. Visitors come primarily to engage with this difficult history at one of the Mekong Delta's most significant memorial sites.
