Brugg
Switzerland
Sitting where the Aare, Reuss, and Limmat rivers meet — a confluence known in German as the Wasserschloss der Schweiz — Brugg is a little Swiss town in canton Aargau with a medieval old town built at the narrowest point on the Aare. The Habsburgs established their earliest known seat here, in the neighbourhood of Altenburg, before shifting their power centre to Austria. The Vindonissa museum is listed as a heritage site of national significance, and the town sits within easy reach of Zürich and Basel.
