Calbuco

Founded in 1603 as a Spanish fort, Calbuco is the oldest city in Chile's Llanquihue Province, sitting on an island in the Los Lagos Region and connected to the mainland by a causeway. The commune encompasses fourteen islands in total and contains the Monte Verde archaeological site.
