This walkable Umbrian town on the Topino river where it meets the plain of the Clitunno, Foligno has a food-and-drink scene and a concentration of medieval churches packed into its centre. The town sits in the Valle Umbra in the province of Perugia, with mountains close by and several UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region. One of the more industrialized towns in Umbria, it is also a major rail junction on the Rome–Ancona line.
