Granitsa
Ευρυτανία · Greece
This mountain village in Evrytania, Greece, Granitsa sits on a forested slope of Mount Liakoura above the river Granitsiotis, and retains nine historic churches from an original seventeen — most of the others lost during Ottoman rule. A Folklore Museum holds woven and carved objects, tools, local clothing, weapons from the 1821 Greek Revolution, and personal collections tied to the writer Zacharias Papantoniou and the artist Stefanos Granitsas, both connected to the village.
