Guanabo

A little beach town on Cuba's Atlantic coast, Guanabo sits at the mouth of the Guanabo River east of Havana, within the broader Playas del Este stretch of shoreline. It has a good spread of restaurants and casas particulares for its size, and the surrounding Sierra del Canchón provides scenic terrain nearby. More typically Cuban in character than the resort beaches closer to the capital, it draws independent travellers looking for a quieter base with local atmosphere.
