San Antonio de los Banos

Cuba

Known as Cuba's "Capital of Humor," San Antonio de los Baños has hosted the International Humor Biennial since 1979 and is home to the first Museum of Humor in Cuba — said to be the only one of its kind in Latin America, holding caricatures published on the island as far back as 1848. Founded in 1794 by Canary Island settlers on the Ariguanabo River, the town also hosts the International School of Film and Television, established in 1986 under the auspices of Gabriel García Márquez's foundation, a short drive southwest of Havana.
