Hanstholm
Denmark
Hanstholm is a fishing harbour town on the northwest tip of Jutland in northern Denmark, built on a limestone ridge that was once an island. The ridge, known as Hanstholmknuden, stretches several kilometres and was shaped by glacial erosion over a large salt diapir, giving the area its elevated terrain and coastal views. The town takes its name from that former island — "holm" meaning island in Danish.
