Hjørring
Denmark
One of Denmark's oldest market towns, Hjørring has held that status since at least 1243 and sits at the top of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark, serving as the main urban centre for the Vendsyssel region. The walkable centre has a pedestrianised shopping street along Strømgade connecting the main square at Springvandspladsen to Sct. Olai Plads, with cafés and restaurants concentrated around the core.
