This seaport town on Denmark's North Jutlandic Island with sandy beaches, a marina converted from a former fishing harbour, and a compact old-town centre with cafés and restaurants. Sæby received market rights in 1524, and its historic core includes the 12th-century St. Mary's Church — originally a Carmelite monastery with vaulted ceilings and extensive fresco paintings — alongside timber-framed and neoclassical buildings along the main street, Algade. A large figurehead sculpture, installed in 2001, marks the harbour entrance.
