Hsipaw

This small town on the banks of the Duthawadi River in Myanmar's Shan State, Hsipaw has a café and restaurant scene that punches well above its size, along with an unusual number of churches. The former seat of the Hsipaw Shan sawbwa (chieftain), it sits on both the Mandalay–Lashio road and rail line, making it a practical base in northern Shan State.
